Pipe Fabricators History
Pipe Fabricators, a division of SPS Companies, was started in 1984 to service the fire protection industry. Supplying pipe fabrication and associated products to protect lives and buildings in the Twin Cities metropolitan area remains our core business. Since its establishment, Pipe Fabricators has offered fire sprinkler fabrication such as pipe cutting, threading, grooving and welding that is second to none in the Midwest.
Our first location was in St. Louis Park near our parent company headquarters. This location was 10,000 square feet and consisted of only a fire sprinkler fabrication shop.
In 1993, we expanded our pipe fabrication business into a 33,000 square foot facility in New Hope, MN. This larger facility allowed us to begin our transformation from fire sprinkler fabrication to a supplier of fire prevention products such as fittings, pipe fabrication, hangers, valves, pipes and fire sprinkler accessories.
In November of 2000, we opened our current location in Maple Grove, MN. This new enhanced facility, 100,000 square feet, was designed to accommodate our growing business and improve our flow of materials. Forty thousand square feet is dedicated to loose material alone. Our larger capacity continues to support our expansion of territory in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota.
